Lake Charles, a fifteen-acre man-made lake and storm-water detention area, is the focal point of the Oakwood subdivision. Members are encouraged to use Lake Charles for boating and fishing. The lake is fishable from boats or designated areas along the Eastern Shoreline or Westman Beach at the south end of the lake (refer to the Common Area Rules for specifics). Members who do not live adjacent to the lake may launch and permanently tie up their boats at designated locations along the Eastern Shoreline.
The Eastern Shoreline consists of two fishing piers and a beautifully landscaped nature path ideal for quiet walks. Westman Beach provides a sandy area for family recreation. Lake Charles, the Eastern Shoreline, and Westman Beach are available for use only by Oakwood residents and their guests. Anyone present in these areas must provide upon request a driver's license or other identification as proof of residence in Oakwood.
